UNDP/Global Fund support to the TB response in Iraq,

The combination of sectarian violence, internal displacement and the influx of refugees from Syria poses a severe threat to tuberculosis control efforts in Iraq. Despite the dangers, UNDP has been reaching these people in war-torn areas with much needed treatment. UNDP / Global Fund support to the TB response in Iraq, where we have managed support the treatment of over 40,000 TB patients despite the worsening conflict, reaching people including IDPs in the most inaccessible and war-torn areas of the country, through innovative mobile technology to track patients and monitor supplies and through networks of health workers, volunteers, and civil society partners.
